New York Knicks put aside their brawl against the Denver Nuggets over the weekend with a face saving 97-96 win over Western Conference heavy weights Utah Jazz, in NBA action at the Madison Square Gardens in New York yesterday.

Playing with only eight players from their roster of 12 because four were suspended because of their part in the on-court battle, the Knicks led by Stephon Marbury who scored the winning basket netted 29 points and assisted eight times. Marbury got support from Jamal Crawford 18 points, and David Lee 17 points, 20 rebounds.

Phoenix Suns had an historical and nail biting 161-157 win over New Jersey Nets Thursday night, to record the fourth highest combined score in the National Basketball Association (NBA) history as both teams shared 318 points. The match played on the Suns home court went to double overtime, after the scores were tied 133-133 at the end of the four quarters, then another dead heat at 143-143 at the end of the first overtime, but in double over time the Suns out shot the Nets 18-14 to take the contest 161-157.
