Police Force under pressure?

Jamaica%20Police.jpg

Kingston, Jamaica:
If fighting dangerous criminals in the getthoes are not enough,
think again.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in recent weeks are under constant pressure, as they are being shot, crushed in car accident or brought to the court for corruption charges.
Last week a Police Officer's life was snuffed out in a shoot out with gunmen in Cassava Piece, a Garrison community in St Andrew, near Constant Spring.
Just this week another Policeman was crushed to death after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a truck.
Also a Policeman was suspended for shooting an infant that was travelling in a Taxi. Broderick Wright, 11 months, was killed in the arms of his mother as Police opened fire on a taxi that sped away from them in Spanish Town recently.
Two Policemen, Corporal Ronald Burke and Constable Lennox Riley who should have been serving and protecting the public tried to rob a pastor of $700,000 to abtain money under deceitful circumstances was charged, and recently attended court to answer to bribery and corruption charges.
At least 24 Policemen are on corruption charges the Police Anti-corruption unit has reported since the start of the year.
