'No shows' at JUTC irks Transport Minister

Kingston, Jamaica:
Minister of Transport Mike Henry is upset and suprised at the number of sick days taken by Bus drivers and Customer Service Representatives (CRS), (Bus conductors) since the start of the year.

Data sent to the Minister by the new Management team at the State-run Bus Company shows that Drives and CRS, have thousands of sick days combined which is seen as a deliberate act to undermine the JUTC.
The Minister has asked the workers and the Union representing the workers to desist from this practice. He also asked the Management of the Bus Company to tackle this situation immediately as the absenteeism cannot continue.
He added that the company is on a course for profitability and this can have a negative effect on the company.
