Jamaica's Delloreen Ennis-London took Jamaica's third medal copping a bronze in the women's 100m final this morning, August 29, 2007, Jamaica-time.
In the best women's hurdles final of all-time in terms of quality, Ennis-London, in a blanket finish with four other athletes on the line finished third in a personal best 12.50 seconds, beaten by USA's World champion, and gold medalist Michelle Perry (12.46), and former world champion and silver medalist Perdita Felicien of Canada (12.49).
Fourth and fifth went to Susanna Kallur, Sweden (12.51), and the USA's Virginia Powell (12.55), also in creditable times, while Jamaica's Vonette Dixon came seventh in a personal best
12.64 seconds.
Novleen Williams the pre-race favourite for the women's 400m title had to settle for bronze, equaling her season best, 49.66 seconds.
The British pair of Christine Ohuruogu (49.61), and Nicola Sanders (49.65) won the gold and silver.
Jamaica now has four medals- gold, three bronze.
