“You know its True Flexx.” The quote of 26 year old Dwayne Taylor, an all rounded entertainer who is very talented in Songwriting and Deejaying. Dwayne Taylor was born to mother Maureen Forrester on May 24, 1981. Like many young people of our society Dwayne was raised by his mother and grandmother (Imminger Shoriah) as he grew up knowing no father. However, that has never once stopped Dwayne from making progress in life especially with his aspiring music business as he truly believes there is a lot for him out there to conquer and his music can make a tremendous difference in society. The name True Flexx was conjoined from two sources; “True” from a part of the name of his past music group True Flexx Kru and “Flexx” from a girl who is always teasing him about being too busy as he always tell her he’s about to make a flex.

Dwayne was born in Port Antonio and raised in Kingston; he attended the Norwich Primary School then entered into the Port Antonio Comprehensive High School. Dwayne has a love for music, football and also swimming but ever since the age of 20 years music has been his sole priority. His motivation over the years has been his good friends: "Honestly", Bobo and John. However, his role model is the great entertainer himself Sizzla Kolange. This primarily says True Flexx is because he performs songs that uplift and inspire him to work hard.
Dwayne started writing songs when he started to take the music seriously, he used to perform other people’s song but eventually saw that this was a lost cause. He describes his songs as unique as it entails a mixture of R&B and Reggae. Dwayne’s music comes from his heart as he deejays about things he is passionate about and is real. Unlike many Artiste today, True Flexx’s songs are meaningful and uplifting as he believes slack songs are disdainful. He has written a variety of songs, some such are “To all the ladies”, “Dem eva wah receive”, “Baby girl” and “Tell me why.” True Flexx’s songs can be heard on the radio as it is frequently played by Dalton Lee.
He wants people to view his music as conscious music and not as gangster material. He has performed at stage shows such as Bling Dawg’s Summer Jam and at The Portmore Town Centre and also to get the exposure he performs at several karaoke. He describes the feedback as very good so far because people are starting to recognize him. Of his many songs he has made only one video which is for the song “Oh God”. This is mainly because of the lack of funding though he is working on releasing his second video soon. He considers himself a hardworking and determined individual as he practices very hard at a studio that is always accessible to him which is owned by his friend in Greater Portmore, where he currently resides. True Flexx is hoping that his music can bring a change to the entertainment sector as he hopes to inspire upcoming Artiste like himself, while opening doors for them as well. He is hoping that if his music becomes a success he can elevate himself to an international level, own a record label and studio. His main focus however, is to finish his schooling as he did not have the opportunity in the past to do this.
Though True Flexx has never done any performance or song with any major entertainer, it is his dream to do collaborations with Artistes like Sizzla Kolange, Mad Kobra and Vybz Kartel. He believes that where competition in the music industry is concerned that as stated by Capelton “Music is a mission not a competition”. Therefore he’ll manage because it is something he loves. True Flexx believes that his chances of reaching to "higher heights" in music are very good but he needs a little help and desires more promotion. True Flexx advice to people who are aspiring to become entertainers, are, never stop trying and never let anyone say you cannot accomplish your dream. Put your heart and soul in it and eventually you’ll achieve.
