*Lankans gave cricket minnows no mercy
Sri Lanka warming up for their semi-final clash with New Zealand next week whipped new comer Ireland by eight wickets in Grenada on Wednesday April 18, 2007.

Ireland tasted the Lankans bowling music early and as their batsmen were looking good and the score on 28-0, then Farveez Maharoof struck, first removing Australian-born, Jeremy Bray for 20, and then Andre Botha for 0, Eion Morgan went also for a duck with the score still on 28. The Irish were eventually bowled out for 77 off 27.4 overs, with Maharoof (4-25) and Muttiah Muralitharan (4-19) destroying the Irish batters.
Sri Lanka raced to 81-2 off 10 overs, as Mahela Jayawardene (39 not out) and Sanath Jayasuriya (24 not out) carried their team past the victory target.
