Can Australia be beaten?

Alot of questions is being asked about the invincibility of the Australian team, after they battered semi-finalists New Zealand by 215 runs, their worst defeat in a one-day International, in both nations final Super 8 match, on Friday April 20, 2007 in Grenada.

This was Australia's 27th straight Cricket World Cup win.

Australia batted first and put the New Zealand bowlers to the sword, piling up an imposing 348-6 off their 50 overs.

Man-of-the-match, Matthew Hayden scored 103, his third century of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, and 580 runs on aggregate; while skipper Ricky Ponting made 66 and Shane Watson 65.

New Zealand in reply folded for an embarrassing 133 all out in just over 25 overs.

Greg Hogg led the Australian bowling with figures of 4-29 (6.5), with good support coming from Shaun Tait (3-32), and veteran Glen McGrath (2-25). Only the Kiwi opener Peter Fulton 62 offered any resistance.
