Coach of the West Indies Cricket team Bennett King has resigned his post has head coach of the regional cricket team on the back of an early exit by the Caribbean cricketers at this year's ICC Cricket World Cup, the first to be hosted in the Caribbean.
The West Indies were expected to at least make the semi-finals, but finished unofficially sixth overall, after coming to the Super 8s stage with three consecutive wins. But lost five of six games in the Super 8 stage, forcing journalists, administrators and Caribbean fans demanding that heads should roll.

West Indies are scheduled to tour England next month, and King has recommended that his assistant David Moore take over.
There is no talk surfacing of a long term coach at this time.
On another note, Medium pacer Ian Bradshaw has resigned from International cricket. These resignations has come on the heels, of Brian Lara quitting International Cricket.

King an Australian took over the coaching job in October 2004, from Gus Logie, but has no real silverware to show, for his over 21/2 years of work.
Apart from his side making the Champions Trophy final in India where they were also beaten by eight wickets by the Aussies, he has under performed, though with limited resources to his disposal. He will however, stay on for a month to set up a Cricket Academy in the West Indies.
