To hang or not to hang?

Kingston, Jamaica:
Capitol punishment is one of the most talked about topics in the media, business interests and members of the public as a way of controlling the spate of murders in the country.
But, the question should be asked, will hanging convicted murderers stem the scourge of crime? only time will tell.

Recently, Derrick Smith, Opposition spokes man on National Security said that if his party (Jamaica Labour Party) forms the next Government then they will be re-instituting hanging.
But, this matter will be debated for a long time, as hanging has moral implications.
For one it's against Biblical teachings as stated in the Ten Commandments, 'Thou shall not kill", But some will argue that an eye for an eye is also Biblical in its use, (Meaning if you kill someone then you should be put to death).
"Take dem to the gallows", one man shouted when asked what the state should do to convicted killers.
Another man said that the Government should find another way of instituting punishment. "No man, that's too immoral they need to find other means of punishment.
Additionally, Human Rights groups will be against such a move, and this debate will take years to resolve.
So what's your take on the matter, should Hanging be re-instituted? Please send comments
