The Indian Police are currently investigating Jamaican and West Indies all-rounder Marlon Samuels for having telephone conversations with an unauthorised bookmaker on the eve of their one day International against India in the Asian Continent last month.
If the allegations are true Samuels could be sanctioned for breaching the ICC code of regulations, with regards for giving out information about his team.
However, the West Indies Cricket Board did not offer a comment as they will be carrying out their own investigations on the matter.
With the ICC Cricket World Cup just four weeks away the Caribbean cricketers will not want this sort of distraction.
Guyanese Ramnaresh Sarwan, which is one of the main batsman for the West Indies is sidelined for at least three weeks with an injured thumb.
Samuels hit an even 100 against Pakistan in December in the fourth One Day International to help them beat the home side, however, the Caribbean side lost the series 3-1. Samuels also featured made 98 against India in the third One day International to close cut the series lead by India to 2-1, but the Windies lost the series 3-1.
The 26 year-old Samuels had a set back in the last World Cup in 2003 when he suffered a knee injury.
