A Wray and Nephew National Premier League game between home team Boys' Town and Westmoreland's Reno FC yesterday at the Collie Smith Drive Sports Complex
was aborted because of gun shots being fired in the community of Wilton Gardens which is near the venue.
The referee in charge of the game Kevin Thomas in his opinion ruled against continuing the match as the shots that were being fired though not inside the venue allegedly by gun man placed the players on the field at risk.
The pandemonium was shown live on National Television, as players on the field of play in fear for their lives lie flat on their stomachs.
The Reno team quickly boarded their bus, and the coach of the team Wendell Downswell said he will only honor a match at this location if proper security is in place.
Reno, is in third place on 25 points, and Boys' Town lies seventh on 18 points.
Meanwhile, Waterhouse maintained their lead in the League 4-0 win over cellar dwellers Naggo Head and Harbour View whipped Seba United 4-1, but still five points off the pace on 30 points.
Arnette Gardens moved to 23 points and sole fifth position with a 1-0 over Tivoli Gardens and Portmore United goal scoring drought continues as they were held 0-0 at the Elleston Wakeland Center in Trelawny. Portmore inched to 24 points.
