Another year has past, as you reflect on a another challenging 12 months in Jamaica’s history in terms of an harsh economic climate, social conflicts, and the malaria and leptospirosis outbreaks you can decide for yourself what went right or what needs to improve for you to have self improvement, both physically and emotionally in 2007.
Those business moves you were completing last year, you can now have the courage with the assistance of an expert business consultant to take that step to achieve your financial goals.
What about that relationship shifts that you were thinking about?
For years your spouse treat you like dirt, abusing you mentally and physically and yet you stay, mainly because of financial gains, but one day, hopefully not soon, one final physical abuse can mean the end of your life. So think it over carefully, if the council sessions are not working and there is no change in your ‘main squeeze’ demeanor then it’s time to move on.
For 2007, I hope that the men will stand and be counted, real men don’t abuse women, as this shows some form of weakness, ‘yes’! ‘I mean weakness’ on the part of our men.
Some people would say: “A woman strength him have”, which means he only has strength for a woman, but if a real man confronts him, he either ‘runs’ or find somewhere to hide. But seriously men you need to start respecting the ladies again.
And women, you need to also respect your self for the men to start respecting you. If you left your self wanting men will think that you are cheap, and I know you all are ‘expensive and ‘dear’!!!
On another note, crime was down last year (2006), about 300 fewer people were murdered than in 2005, but that number is still too high, and the government and the private sector need to formulate social programmes, not just on paper but practical and tangible solutions to counter crime and violence in the inner cities.
As for St James, in particular Montego Bay and its environs the crime rate as shoot through the roof, and the government and business interests must through all their resources in cleansing that parish of the evils and corruption that currently exists.
The church as a major role to play, they cannot sit in their sanctuaries and allow crime to take over the very place they worship in. I hope for a number of street meetings from church groups especially those in the volatile areas.
I hope all or most of your dreams can be fulfilled in 2007, but first in my opinion you need to free your mind of negative things that impeded you last year.
