
American Veteran Singer James Brown, who was once called the ‘Godfather’ of soul died at age 73 on Christmas morning December 25, 2006.
Brown died due to complications from severe pneumonia.

James Brown was rated as one of the best R&B, pop singer of all time, and the founding father of Disco, he won a Grammy award for lifetime achievement in 1992, as well as Grammys in 1965 for Best R&B recording with "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" and in 1987 for Best R&B vocal performance, male with "Living In America". Brown was one of the first artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, along with Pop icon Elvis Presley.
James Brown singles include mega hits such as "Out of Sight," "(Get Up I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine," "I Got You (I Feel Good)" and "Say It Loud — I'm Black and I'm Proud.” Brown who was born 1933 in South Corolina, and died two years after the star of funk and close friend Rick James was found dead.
