Hello, fellow ʽwebbitesʼ we are again in the Christmas season a time for merriment, dancing having fun and doing a lot of shopping.

But, before you leave your house to fill your shopping list please adhere to some simple rules:

(1) Donʼt leave home with too much money; if possible make use of debit/credit cards.

(2) Make a list of the things you want and try not to go overboard unless itʼs necessary.

(3) If driving a motor vehicle donʼt park in an area that is not properly lit.

(4) Donʼt park too far from the shopping complex.

(5) Carry your handbags in front of you so you can see where it is at all times.

(6) If you must use an ATM-electronic banking machine, make sure to use one that is in a built up area where people are around. Try to avoid outlets that are in secluded areas.

(7) If you are driving ensure that sufficient gas is in the tank itʼs not nice to run out of gas especially if you are going on a long journey. It is best to service your vehicle, such as getting an oil change if it is due if you are going on a long journey, try to travel with someone if it is possible.

(8) Avoid holding large sums of cash in your hand.

(9) Keep your eyes open for walk-by robbers one slip-up and you could be nabbed.

Remember the robbers will also be out in full force so be careful when shopping.

Do have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.
