Perry Henzell, Jamaican director of 'The Harder They Come,' dies at 70
KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) - Perry Henzell, a filmmaker whose reggae classic "The Harder They Come" helped introduce Jamaican pop culture to a global audience, died Thursday 30, 2006. He was 70.
Henzell, who had battled cancer for seven years, succumbed to the illness at a relative's home in the Jamaican farming parish of St. Elizabeth, according to his son, Jason Henzell.
"We're just glad he went peacefully without any more pain," his son said.

Countries across the World will recognize those that have died or suffered from the Acquired Immune deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and the virus (HIV) that causes the decease.
Ever since the decease was discovered in the late 1970's the conception was that this was a homosexual disease but when heterosexuals started contracting the virus (HIV) that causes AIDS then people began fearing that AIDS will be the next epidemic.
There is no known cure for AIDS but over the years persons contracting the HIV virus are living longer through advancement in medicine. Taking antiretroviral drugs, exercise and a good diet have been proven to lengthen the life expectancy of HIV victims.
Gracious Lord and Father of mankind, on this World AIDS Day, we pause to remember all those who are infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
We remember those who tend to the sick in the various hospices, such as Good Shepherd Foundation, in Montego Bay, Best Care, in St. Catherine, and Matthew 25:40, in Kingston. Bless them in their work of helping to relieve suffering and enabling others to experience quality life.

From Honda Accords and Suzukis to the more posh of things the Audi, Benz, BMW, and Jaguar teased the patrons, "those pretty wheels wish i could afford one," A lady said. Others got behind the steering wheels and try to feel what's it's like being in a luxury car. There were the antique/classic vehicles, the Ford, the corvette and others were guarded by Security personnel.
The incidence of malaria has been in the news over the last couple of days and we are just using this opportunity to provide some information on this disease. Malaria is a serious disease caused by a parasite, which if not treated promptly can sometimes be fatal. World Health Organization estimates that each year about 300 –500 million new cases occur and more than one million persons die from the disease. About 1,300 cases of malaria are diagnosed in the United States each year with the vast majority being travelers and immigrants returning from malaria-risk areas like sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian subcontinent. Although malaria can be a fatal disease, illness and death from malaria are largely preventable. As with most infections, the very young and the old are more vulnerable.
Waterhouse Football Club remained the only unbeaten team in the JFF Wray and National Premier League competition after a hard fought 1-1 draw with rivals Tivoli Gardens at Drewsland on Sunday night.
Jamaica Under-16 Netballers last Friday night wrestled the Caribbean U-16 title from rivals Barbados after a 38-16 win against the latter in Trinidad and Tobago.
The young girlz won eight consecutive matches to remain undefeated for the tournament.

The Jamaican Government yesterday allocated $30.2 million dollars to fight new cases of Malaria. At least 30 persons in Kingston/St Andrew and St Catherine have tested positive for the mosquito caused disease. The government is expected to run an extensive vaccine drive to combat the outbreak of the disease once thought to be eradicated from Jamaica many years ago. The symptoms include fever and muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and exhaustion.

Do you remember songs like ‘Fast car’, ‘Behind the wall’…-‘Last night I heard a screaming’…and ‘Baby can I hold you’…-‘Sorry, is all that you can't say’…? How the words from these songs intrigued our minds and life and we who were born at the time could remember singing and moving to these lyrics in the late 1980’s from song writer and renowned folk singer and black dreadlocked Tracy Chapman.

Christmas is usually a time for wild staff parties where there is a lot of liquor passing around; at many times these liquors are free dependant on who is putting it on.
Some persons may over indulge and want to abuse alcoholic beverages.
We at JAMCL is appealing to these people if you can not control your drinking habits please don?t drive. Try instead to have a designated driver to carry you from the place of amusement to your home. If you plan to drive remember don?t drink, because alcoholic substances impairs a driver?s vision, sense of direction and judgment which is critical when traveling on the public?s road. We don?t need to add to road deaths for the year which are pretty high already. Men and to a lesser extend women drivers take resposibility for your actions, remember the live you save may be your own.
I heard mutha........ sayin’ they made Hov…
Made Hov say ‘OK, so, make another Hov’…
Niggas wasn’t playin’ they day role
So we parted ways like Ben and J-Lo
I shoulda been did it, but I been in a daze though
I put friends over business end of the day though
But when friends…business interest is day-glo
Ain’t nuffin left to say though, I guess we forgot what we came for
Shoulda stayed in food and beverage, too much flossing
Too much Sam Rothstein, I ain’t a bitch but I gotta divorce them
Hov had to get the shallow shit up off him
And I ain’t even want to be famous
Niggas is brainless to unnecessarily go through these changes
And I don’t even know how I came to this
Except that fame is the worst drug known to man
It’s stronger than heroin, when you can look in the mirror like ‘there I am”
And still not see what you become
I know I’m guilty of it too, but not like them
[Verse 1]
I’m bringing sexy back
Them other boys donno know how to act
I think your special whats behind your back
So turn around and ill pick up the slack.

Scotiabank Jamaica CEO William 'Bill' Clarke, angered by opposition to his proposed amendments to the constitution of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ), yesterday withdrew the bank's membership in the group, effectively ending his bid for the presidency.
JAMCL is of the opinion that Mr. Clarke should reconsider his position since it is better to effect change from within than to be an outside observer.

Before a medical doctor treats a patient he first needs to find out if the person (s) have the symptoms of malaria, if yes then tests are done such as physical tests including the taking of blood samples to be tested then a diagnosis is arrived.
If a person tests positive for the Malaria decease then treatment will be administered immediately.
Travelers from different countries may contract or spread the Malaria decease so anti-malaria vaccines is the way to go but these should be done well in advance before one migrates, especially if it is a Malaria stricken country like Indian and Sub-Sahara Africa the tourist will visit.

Kingston, Jamaica:
Waterhouse Football Club coaches, players and fans could only watch as their team was eliminated from the CFU Caribbean Club championships as Haitian Club Baltimore Sportif led by Dumel Decius three goals whipped Deportivo Banda Abou of Curcaco 4-0 on Sunday December 10, 2006 at the Waterhouse Mini Stadium. Lesca Cileus scored his team?s fourth goal.
"MANCHESTER, N.H. - The political phenomenon known as Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) descended Sunday on the state with the nation's first presidential primary, drawing enthusiastic crowds and trailed by a huge media horde as he continued to stoke interest in a possible bid for the White House in 2008."
This story was of interest to me since Obama is truly an inspiration, not because he is a black man but more so because he is charismatic and an excellent communicator. These character traits have resulted in him having a large following across racial and gender lines.
Western Jamaica?s top Football Club Reno upset former second place team Harbour View 2-1 in the 14th round of the Wray and Nephew National Premier League at their temporary home ground St Elizabeth Technical High School field yesterday.
The win placed Reno in second position on 25 points, one ahead of third place Harbour View and four points behind idle leaders Waterhouse. The win for the Westmoreland outfit gave Firehouse some breathing space, and left the Stars of the East five points off the pace.

Jamaica's Miracle Man wins Clásico Copa Confraternidad
"Jamaica's Miracle Man stalked the pace for most of the race and made a decisive move at the top of the stretch to win the $100,000 Clásico Copa Confraternidad [Confraternity Cup] on Saturday at El Comandante race track. Ridden by Panamanian and Florida-based jockey Cecilio Penalba, the winner finished the 1 3/16-mile race in 1:59:50."
Again Jamaica has displayed its superiority on the international arena. I hope the owners of Miracle Man will seek out more international events for the Miracle Horse.
I heard that Caymanas Park erupted in jubilation after the race.
In the past months we have seen the price of gasoline soar higher than ever before, and this can be hard on people who have a budget that is tight. Even though gas prices have come down a slight bit, you still will want to do everything you possibly can to save on the money you have to pay out for gas. There are a variety of ways that you can save gas, and save money.
Tip#1 - Start Carpooling
Carpooling is a great idea for fellow students and fellow employees both. If you can find people that are going to the same place you are you can save gas by riding together. It may be a good idea to trade off on who is driving from week to week so no one person gets stuck having to drive all the time. If you have to take your children to school or other functions you can also work on trading off with your friends and neighbors to take them there.

How to Choose The Best Beach In Jamaica For Your Vacation
by: Alton Hargrave
All your life you dreamed of taking a vacation and suddenly it is almost time! Now, the pressure to get the most out of it. We all have different ideas about vacations. And, this will be a special one. You have to realize your own special needs and wants and incorporate all this into a well structured fullfilling time.
I used to live on the streets and was taken advantage of in many ways. Now I am off the streets and doing much better. Trouble is, I don't trust people anymore. I always think they want something from me and consequently I can't get past a superficial relationship.
How do I deal with this? What is wrong with my thinking? I don't live on the streets anymore and don't live around those types of people. I can't make friends with this attitude. I don't want to be a loner all my life. What do you think?
Killa, Kartel clash not good for the music industry
It will get a lot of forwards, and all the suss mobiles will hunk their teeth in the controversy between Alliance leader Rodney 'Bunty Killer' Price and ex-soldier Vybz Kartel, otherwise called 'Adidja Ade teacha' Palmer, but what loses is the content and quality of the Reggae Industry.
Many might be looking at the local industry that craves for cass cass, suss, clashes and verbal wars, but on the International Market that just won't do.
The Jamaica Football Association (JFF) has postponed today's (December 13, 2006) 15th round of games in the Wray a Nephew National Premier League Football competition because of the outbreak of malaria in the coporate area and St Catherine.
This is in keeping with guidlines stipulated by the Ministry of Health to ban public gatherings in areas affected by the recent Malaria outbreak.
Games postponed:
Tivoli Gardens FC vs Arnett Gardens FC, Village United, vs Portmore United, Boys Town FC, vs Reno FC, Harbour View FC vs Seba United and Naggo Head FC vs Waterhouse FC (resheduled game).

The procedure requires a creative approach as well. The idea of the web site must be promptly thought over: not so much, but with zest! Not to overdo with the ideas – is key, because when a person enters the site, he needs to find first of all, what he is interested in.
Nowadays, Web design is of a great request over the Internet. Web design lies not only in the creation of web pages but also all the content and management is included.
This process includes an entire complex of tasks and objectives set before the team, consisting of a web designer, programmer, maker-up, optimizer and other specialists, and depends on the complexity and the specificity of the site. The development of a web site starts from the detail studying of the client’s involvement, his scope of ability, improvement of his goals.
A vacation destination for decades, Jamaica is home to a number of quality golf courses. The temperate climate is a welcome part of the golfing experience, as is the general atmosphere of the golf courses, with many being notable for their outstanding customer service focus and their beautifully kept grounds. It should be noted that while many of the golf courses are private, most of the more exclusive facilities do make day passes available for vacationers.
Who will be the undisputed King at Guinness Sting 2006?
Sting promoted under the Guinness brand is arguably the biggest one night Reggae Show in the World and a strong line-up is billed for this year’s staging on Boxing Day, December 26, 2006 at the Jam World Entertainment Centre in Portmore.
There will be a top ten line-up that will highlight this year’s staging including Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, and the Don Gorgon Ninja Man. But remember Portmore DJ Vybz Kartel will be 'Up to the Time' and the Fireman Capleton will be on ‘top a things’ so make sure to be at Sting.
Will it be Buju Banton, the man who you gave you ‘Driver…don’t stop at all’, or can it be Bounty Killer the War Lord, who shouts ‘People Dead'; Beenie Man, the girls then Sugar, Fireman Capleton, Ninja Man the Daddy of all clashes, Mr. Contraversy Vybz Kartel or will it be one of the new sensation’s on the Reggae scene, Mavado ‘Gansta for Life’, Busy Signal ‘Testing, testing 1,…3’ or Aidonia ‘Mr. Buckham’ will steal the show.
JAMCL is requesting comments and who you think is going to mash up de place, get nuff forwards, rule the roost so to speak at Sting 2006! Please send your comments, in the comments box provided.

*Australia beat England by 206 runs this morning local time
PERTH, AUSTRALIA: World champions Australia regained the Ashes crown which they relinquished last year in England with a pulsating 206-run victory over their long time rivals on the fifth and final day of the Third Cricket Test at the WACA, in Australia this morning (December 18, 2006) local time.
Australia currently has an unassailable 3-0 lead with the two test matches remaining only of academic interest. But knowing how Australia plays they will be hell bent on embarrassing the Englishmen by giving them a proper spanking a 5-0 white wash may be on the cards.
In a shocking result the home of football, Brazil regained the Club World Cup through their club side SC Internacional as they knocked off European Champions FC Barcelona 1-0 in the final at the Yokohama Stadium in Japan, on Sunday December 18, 2006.

What to expect upon arriving in Jamaica and at your Sandals Resort
by: John Gall
When your plane touches down at Sangster International Airport in Jamaica you will have to get your bags and then clear customs. Once through customs there will be many people wanting to help you with your bags etc. I'd suggest just getting your own stuff over to the Sandals Tour desk. Here you'll find a Sandals rep who will put stickers on your bags so they know which Sandals resort they should go to. A skycap in the red had will then load your bags and take them to the bus. Keep in mind these are not Sandals employees and they will expect a tip. I believe $2.00 USD per bag is customary. If you don't want to tip, I'd suggest being upfront that you'll take your own bags. Being that Jamaicans are very good hosts they will likely tell you to not worry and try and carry your stuff anyway. My advice is go with it and enjoy your vacation.
Men's Fashion Coordination: Color Matching Against Your Skin Complexion
by: Leroy Fong
One of the biggest fashion questions for men is usually the lack of understanding on how to color coordinate and look sharp and smart. In order to stay safe, we always see men wearing clothes with colors maintained within navy, blue tones, black and white, or khakis. While I strongly believe that men can definitely move out of these colors as men’s fashion has evolved tremendously.

With all the hustle and bustle this time of year, it’s really easy stressed out! One of the things that is really important and we cannot leave out is to take time to relax. Spend time with the kids and just enjoy them. They are so excited and amazed at the different sites and sounds of Christmas.
1. Go Looking at Christmas Lights – Every year, we load the kids up in the mini-van and spend an evening touring around looking at Christmas lights. Some communities even have contests for the best light display. We have houses in our community that the kids can get out and walk around the displays. The kids think this is really cool.
Perfumes can be fun to wear. Here are some tips on buying and using perfumes.
When buying perfume always try a sample. Wear it for about 10 minutes before deciding if you like it. This allows the alcohol to evaporate and the oils in perfumes to interact with the oil on the skin and will be a little different for everyone.
Try samples in the late afternoon. The power of smell is stronger during that time of day.
When starting a new perfume always use it on only one small area of skin. If there is an allergy to any of the ingredients it's the safest way to discover it. After an hour, if there is no reaction, the perfume is safe to wear.
When wearing perfume put it on the pulse points. The inner wrists, behind the knee, and below the jawline near the ears. The pulse sends out the scent.
Perfume will keep fresher longer if you store it in a cool, dark place since sunlight and heat interact with the oils in the perfume.
ALWAYS look your best. I know this sounds REALLY obvious but you'd be surprised by how many men don't understand the importance of this simple tip. You never know when the girl of your dreams will turn up, or where. And it’s become a bit of a cliché because it’s true -- first impressions really do count.
Here are some figures to consider from my studies.
If you make a GOOD first impression on a woman, you have a 90% chance of EVER getting with her at that point (10% of women for whatever reason will be unreachable for most men at ANY point – she might like women herself etc).
If you make a BAD first impression your chances with her reduce drastically to just 20%. This means that to make her attracted to you AFTER the first 3 minutes of meeting her will be incredibly difficult if her first impressions of you were bad.
It’s the difference between climbing a mountain and using a helicopter to fly up one. Good first impressions means you’re on your way to the top in the helicopter, bad first impressions means you have a difficult climb to success – no helicopters for you.
HAVANA, Cuba (Reuters): A Cuban rafter who was sent back to communist Cuba by the United States 11 months ago said on Monday he would take to the sea again in a 19th bid to get to Florida if Cuban authorities do not allow him to emigrate legally.
"I want to go legally. I have earned the right," said Emiliano Batista, a 32-year-old unemployed waiter.
"I do not want to push off into the sea again, but if I have to I will," said Batista whose has been intercepted by Cuban and US Coast Guards or frustrated by engine failure on previous attempts to leave Cuba.
The celebration of Jesus Christ is the main reason for this season.
However, commercial entities have discretely taken Christ from the equation as more popular names used are ?Merry X-mas?, ?Happy Holidays?, ?Festive or Yuletide season? during this time of the year.
Money has replaced the spiritual and traditional Christmas that was once celebrated on this beautiful island. The ?bling? culture as taken precedence, and who have the most expensive gifts to give are shown as dads or dons and the one?s who doesn?t have anything to give, but a pleasant smile is shunned.
The Chihuahua is know by no other name and has been popular north and south of the Rio Grande for many years. It is the oldest purebred canine native to the North American continent.
The Chihuahua’s origin is filled with tales and extends back to the Toltec civilization of Mexico in the ninth century. Discovery of the earliest Chihuahuas were in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. Ancestors of the Chihuahua could include a small hairless Chinese dog, which could account for the size reduction of the original Chihuahua. The ancient people in Mexico first developed a prairie dog or gopher, which was mute, longhaired and larger than the present-day Chihuahua.
The cordination of this video is absolutely incredible and I love it. It's amazing that throughout the entier video only one set is used. I hope that more artiste will take a look at videos of this kind and use them as an example.

The Jamaican Society has fallen to an all time spiritual low and the question should be asked whose fault is it.
Yes it’s true that Jamaica has the most churches per mile in the world, however the empty benches and the underutilization of church buildings raises numerous question that needs to be answered.
I have always held the view that the presence of so many churches per mile is not an indication of the spiritual richness of our country but more a reflection of how divided we are as a people. Just as political tribalism has divided the Jamaican people, the Church has also played its part in dividing Christians. As a result the country has developed a generation of lost persons who are seeking for truth and leadership.
Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. Throughout the year you were up and about trying to make ends meet, so that food was in the house and the bills were paid, now is the time to settle down and spend sometime with your immediate or your extended family.
Imagine the tears of joy start streaking down your cheek as you have not seen them for the entire year, and it is extra special to see relatives from abroad you have not glanced on for 5-10 years. A hand shake just won’t do, hugs and kisses are in order.
What do you think would deem a marriage successful? Is your marriage successful or are you still working on bringing it into success? Couples may differ in what they believe constitutes a successful marriage. I have compiled a few thoughts that I think couples should incorporate into their own relationship for a successful marriage.
1. Proper Communication
In a successful marriage both husband and wife understand where the other stands on certain issues within the marriage, and are considerate of each other’s feelings. They don’t let matters pile up on the back burner to cause unneeded resentment and animosity later; instead they discuss issues in an appropriate manner when they come up.
Accepting one another is very important if you want a happy and satisfying marriage. By accepting the person you married, you are less likely to bring up faults and bad habits and later use those faults against them. True acceptance is loving the person you married in every respect.
It’s an all white affair at the greatest one-night show on earth (Guinness Sting 2K6). The outbreak of malaria has caused the promoters to caution patrons by telling them to wear white clothing or any other light color clothing to lessen the attraction of the mosquitoes. However they said that the venue would be safe as they will be fogging from December 23, 2006 to December 26, 2006.
The big man himself Vybz Kartel (Addi di Teeecha) will be decked out in full white. The designer is disclosed until the night of his performance. So you have to be there to see how the big man can really put himself together.
Gyptian was detained at Grantley Adams International Airport yesterday, but no one seems to be able to say why.
The 23-year-old, real name Windel Deneto Edwards, was returning from St Vincent where he performed. On route to Jamaica, Immigration held him and five other members of his party.
Gyptian performed in Barbados last Saturday night to a packed gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.
Four of the top teams in the JFF Wray and Nephew National Premier League failed to score as the competition resumed with two matches in St Catherine and the cooperate area yesterday December 21, 2006 after a Malaria scare halted proceedings.
Portmore United were held 0-0 by leaders Waterhouse at the Ferdie Neita Park, while Harbour View squandered a great opportunity to cut the Firehouse lead by playing out a 0-0 stalemate with Arnett Gardens at their home field the Harbour View Mini Stadium.

Sting the Greatest one night Reggae Show on earth over the years usually highlight the men in the Dancehall, but the women are left behind in their wake.

Last night I attended the welcome to JAMROCK concert at the Constant Spring football field, I will give the show an eight (8) out of ten (10).
Let’s start with areas that I was dissatisfied with:
1.There apparently was no parking arrangement in place. As a resul most of the patrons had to squeeze in a corner. I had to pay a man two hundred dollars for a parking spot on the road.
2. The sound was atrocious. TOK was badly hurt in my opinion. The best sound should be used for a production of this nature, even if it means increasing the price.
The Ministry of Health in a Malaria update reported that the mosquito borne disease has risen to 156. This count is 16 more than the last released figure.
The current rise is expected as more blood samples are tested.
However, Dr. Marion Ducasse Senior Medical Officer at the Ministry of Health, said that they have things under control.
Just weeks after announcing her break up with husband of two years Kevin Ferderline, Britney Spears 25, has gone back to the wild life that she usually portray on and off the stage, and the same party craziness that Ferderline was exhibiting and she opposed in days gone by.
Britney Spears mother of two, is said to be appearing at parties skimpily dressed and behaving wild.
England let Aussies off the hook in fourth ashes test
Melbourne, Australia:
England paid dearly for their earlier indiscretions against Australia this morning local time (December 27, 2006) as the homeside piled on the runs to have a 213-run lead at the end of day two in the fourth Ashes test at the Melbourne Cricket ground Down Under.
England, who was skittled out for 159 runs, had Australia on the ropes in their time at bat struggling on 84-5, but a defiant and resolute sixth-wicket partnership of 289 runs between Matthew Hayden 153 and Andrew Symonds 154 not out rescued the world champions from that precarious position. Australia closed on 372-7.

HAVANA, Cuba (AFP): Cubans concerned about the health of ailing Fidel Castro - for most the only leader they have known - were kept in the dark by official Cuban media Tuesday, as a Spanish doctor who examined him refuted reports he is near death.
"We would like more specific information, even if (Fidel Castro) does not appear in public; but we would like some message from the Comandante, an explanation," a 20-year-old University of Havana student said privately.

Mathew's Name means "gift of Yahweh". Mathew a disciple of Jesus was the author of the first New Testament Book.
When Mathew left his occupation of gathering taxes, he hosted a banquet for the Lord and invited a number of other tax collectors (Lk 5:27-32).
The large number of Old Testament quotations used in the book seems to indicate that Mathew's writting was directed primarily towards a Jewish Audience. The book puts great stress on Old Testament passages which show that Jesus was the Messiah (Christ), long awaited King of Israel.
Matthew, of all the Gospel writers, seems most aware of the need to place Jesus in Jewish tradition. He is the only writer who includes the genealogy of Joseph in his story.

According to TMZ Staff writer December 28th 2006 Britney Spears is losing the respect of even her most ardent fans – and now one of the Britster's most popular fan sites is shutting down.
WorldofBritney.com, a faithful and well-visited chronicler of all things Britney since 2000, is closing up shop, and its webmaster had some parting shots for Spears as he announced his site's demise. "As Britney keeps losing her identity and credibility within fans and industry people, so is [World of Britney]," writes Ruben Gray. "I believe Britney is unfortunately done (for me at least). No matter what anyone thinks or how they may disagree, it's very hard to maintain the respect needed to keep things going."
*Australia beat England by 206 runs this morning local time
PERTH, AUSTRALIA: World champions Australia regained the Ashes crown which they relinquished last year in England with a pulsating 206-run victory over their long time rivals on the fifth and final day of the Third Cricket Test at the WACA, in Australia this morning (December 28, 2006) local time.
Australia currently has an unassailable 3-0 lead with the two test matches remaining only of academic interest. But knowing how Australia plays they will be hell bent on embarrassing the Englishmen by giving them a proper spanking a 5-0 white wash may be on the cards.
Sting 2K6 was the show of the year Buju mash up the place, Ninja and Spice gwan good and Mavado almost dun de place.
Killer came out on stage after Mavado, did some good lyrics and got a lot of forward. He them called Beenie to come and war with him and the crowd went berserk. Beenieman did not come out on the stage.
As the sun begun to rise Addi di teecha (Kartel) came out with hit songs such as 'Beyonce Wine', 'Tick Tock' and 'I Neva', and got some forward, then he called up Beenie man and this time he came out and performed 'Roll Deep' and other songs and got plenty forward. While he was on stage performing out of nowhere appeared the man in black (GRUNG GAD) the name on the back of his vest, stormed on stage saying “war is on”. But the war did not go on.
According to Antionette, a patron at the venue, “If a man walk away from almost any other show i could understand but not STING!!! yuh maddd!!! Betta prove yourself right there and then.
Australia will be gunning for a clean sweep, a 5-0 ?white wash? in the final test match against England after they just destroyed their European opponents in the fourth and penultimate test in Melbourne, Australia by an innings and 99 runs; winning within three days yesterday December 28, 2006 and push to an unbeatable 4-0 lead in the Five test-match Ashes series.
It will take something special from the tourists to leave Australia with a draw, or more remotely a win in the final test, taking into consideration their dismal run of form in the series. The last time Australia had a white wash over England was in a 1920-21 series.
The Greatest One night Reggae Show, Sting which was held on Boxing Night, December 26, 2006 somewhat lived up to its name, as it was not lacking in terms of confrontations, incidents and controversies.
Heading the list is that of Beenie Man's no show for a particular clash with Bounty Killer, and the missiles that followed.
The people were hungry for a clash, but this did not materialize.
Cranberries - Simple Protection from Cancer and Heart Disease
When is the last time you ate cranberries? Was it with a turkey dinner? With all the research pointing to the amazing health benefits of this simple berry, shouldn't cranberries be more than a once a year side dish?
How Cranberries Are Proving Their Strength:
The Cranberry Institute provides the results of studies and research that highlight the fantastic health benefits of the humble cranberry.
Cranberries have been used for thousands of years by Native Americans as a source of food and to extend the shelf life of dried meats. Colonial sailors also made use of the natural preservatives in cranberries (from benzoic acid) which allowed them to last through long sea voyages, and the high Vitamin C content which prevented scurvy.
Perhaps they were on to something since new research suggests that cranberries may prevent the adhesion of the e.coli bacteria - a common cause of food poisoning from contaminated meat - to the urinary tract. This 'anti-adhesion' effect may also help in preventing bacteria from causing stomach ulcers and gum disease.
Stephen Marley, GRAMMY winning artist and producer and son of the legendary Bob Marley will release his highly anticipated solo debut album Mind Control (Tuff Gong/ Ghetto Youths/ Universal-Republic) on Tuesday, February 6, 2007.
Think luxury Caribbean holiday and Barbados surely springs to mind. Up until recently, as your aircraft landed at Grantley Adams International Airport, you could see that symbol of ultimate luxury parked on the runway: Concorde. Today, she’s hidden away in a hangar but still a testament to the fact that British Airways felt that Barbados was the only other place in the world – apart from New York – which could sustain Concorde flying into the island twice a week.
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Saddam Hussein, among the world’s most brutal dictators, struggled briefly after American military guards handed him over to Iraqi executioners. But as his final moments approached, he grew calm. Dressed in a black coat and trousers, he clutched a Quran as he was led to the gallows, and in one final moment of defiance, refused to have a hood pulled over his head.
Movado stake claim that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the local Dancehall arena after blazing away on the biggest hot tempered Reggae show, Sting at the Jam World Entertainment Centre in Portmore, St Catherine on Boxing Night, Tuesday December 26, 2006.
South Africa?s captain Graeme Smith will sleep much easier these days after they defeated India by 174 runs to tie the three test match series at 1-1 on the fifth and final day of the second cricket test in Durban, South Africa on Saturday December 30.
