She is a true musician in the purest of sense. That is she not only knows how to sing but she can play an instrument. This observation although may seem unimportant to many in my opinion it is a significant contribution to her success. Tanya can be compared with Alecia Keys they both seem to have an in depth knowledge of music that pores out in their albums.
Her music is artistic and current
Some may consider her music to be raw or X rated but a closer listen will lead you to realize that it is actually dancehall art. In addition her music is based on multiple themes which prevents it from being boring and monotonous.

When you listen to Tanya being interviewed the first thing that appeals to you is the fact that she is well educated and knowledgeable lady. She is able to use her education in her music by being able to sensibly challenge her audience on themes surrounding love, politics and religion.
