Dutty wine labeled ‘a killer dance move.’
Eighteen year old Tanisha Henry collapsed while dutty wining at a party in Beacon Hill, Thompson Pen, St.Catherine October 29, 2006.
It was reported that Tanisha and some friends attended a school uniform party held in the Parish. At about 4:00am while doing the dance the incident occurred and Miss Henry was reported dead at the Spanish Town Hospital.
The incident left Tanisha’s mother Linda Henry in shock. As the doctor told her that her daughter was dead due to the dance, her worst fear was realized and remains in shock as she says she does not know how the family will deal with the matter.
Sources say that the dance is dangerous and should be done with caution. A similar incident occurred where another young lady had to be rushed to a hospital due to the popular dance. It was Wednesday night at a popular event named ‘passa passa’ held in Tivoli Gardens where it was reported that a young lady’s neck was fractured during this dance.
A Senior Medical Doctor at the Spanish Town Hospital stated that he has had some reported cases of fractures due to the popular dance move.
